BitTorrent or Kazaa ?

To be fair, and to give Kazaa users ample opportunity to spam the BitTorrent forum, like many aspiring BitTorrent traders do on the Kazaa forum, I thought a topic like this, here, at it's place...
Well tell me what do you prefer? If necessary, I could create a poll :)

This is just a measure to keep people sharing their files instead of "hit & run", I guess it can be considered as a downside, although IMHO, it actually promotes the whole idea of sharing which makes Bittorrent so great.

Having said that, though, I kind of miss Kazaa's ability to search for a single mp3 file. With BitTorrent you need to download the whole album (as soon as it's out, cause later you won't find that much indexed music).

We were having a lan at a friends house a few years back, and one of my friends computer crached and he had to reinstall windows, he did not have hes key with him, so he decided to use my computer to install kazza search for windows key generator, downloaded it a .exe file, and double clicked it.

hmm i was using that Kazaa Lite for a while, the one "without" spyware and adware.

Now I'm pretty fed up with the p2p networks, too many bad files/slow downloads. Torrent is the way to go, especially with the private or semiprivate sites, better file quality and less leechers ;)

I never used kaza, but I was at one point addicted to limewire. I couldn't begin to estimate the number of viruses I downloaded with that.
It was kinda fun though because I got to the point when I could spot a virus very fast. I was on an internal network once and convinced a guy to fully share his c drive. I saved like 20 to his computer.

While you are still searching I am already enjoying the music, or watching some film.. if you get the drift. So everything has it's place.

At every type of download bittorrent is the king... except mp3s. I tried to find some eurodance mp3s from the 90's. I searched oink, demonoid and torrentspy. I found very few. But on LimeWire I found almost all of the mp3s which I wanted.

thats poor logic. ur in the bittorrent section preaching kazza to us, as u obviously feel its better than BT. and 1 of u arguements is that the new klite will have a built in torrent tracker. its not the lack of a torrent tracker ppl dont like about kazaa, its the inclusion of kazza.

i dont think ive ever used kazaa, started off years ago using winmx and emule, then moved on to some private ftp dump sites. was then 1 of the early users of suprnova, and havent looked back since.

To give an answer to that, I would need more information. What is possible, is that you need to open udp ports and others. Somthing would appear, to be blocking your connection. Things like firewall erm virus scanners, maybe you don't have all the corrects ports in your ( router) open... If you read this make a screen shot of, 1 your configuration, and two the open ports in your router. Open in any case the corresponding UDP ports. If your isp is blocking the default ports...then choose one above 20000 they cant block them all :)

Kazaa can't even compare to Torrents. Atleast with torrents you have a better chances at not getting spyware.

The only thing that gets to be annoying with torrents is that you can't do it with any type of internet connection. In most cases, you have to PortForward... which you can't without a modem.
