I could create one, and link it to my network, or teach someone to run it :)

It could look like this

FileSharingTalk.com.mensap2p.com or FileSharingTalk.com.FileSharingTalk.com and could be found listed here http://www.gotnap.com/index.php?loc=list not one single file is shared on the server and all data is exchanged directly between sharer and wanter.

I will make one for a day so you can see the progress onder my hosting....

FileSharingTalk.mensap2p.com the port will be 2007 port 3456

you will need to know that to connect to it :)

Someone else has been talking about doing this for some time also. Who was it........ Shadowfire (http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/member.php?find=lastposter&t=162498), maybe?

If so, maybe the two of you could work something out....

Well if you could work out how to connect to our network, you could join the Scrabble Channel, thats now online, and pit your wits against, Bron our wise Scrabble Bot :) while you are downloading at hich speed the music, film or whatever... If you use Lopster, it has multi sourcing and allows you to connect to irc servers:)

I have as an experiment.. created a SlavaNap server, whose name is FileSharingTalk.mensap2p.com:2007 ..it's a filesharing server..at the moment there are 340 real users logged in and sharing files freely with each other...one filesharer have been intrepid enough to venture into one of the chat rooms :O ....oh wait, that's me

If you would like to experience some file-sharing opennap style..check this short guide...and you could be in playing scrabble, or spamming the virtual lounge before you can say FileSharingTalk Robinson.. http://z15.invisionfree.com/Imagine_If/index.php?showtopic=21

So whose going to log in with some files to help us reach the top of those tables .. this is the addy:- FileSharingTalk.mensap2p.com:2007

These are statistics, 100%, taken directly from the server and as you can see fresh.. I will leave the server on for the rest of the day, unless you would like to me to keep it up... maybe I will link it to the rest of the network later, but for now let's see how it does...and you all can help, by learning how to log in with a few files 5 is minimum for now.

It's up to the FST Team, I can keep it going indefinitely, with a name of your choice.

Could you make a quicky guide how to get in there? specifically for fst( i looked at your link but my head imploded)

thewizeard
03-14-2007, 07:30 PM
Yes well, to get there, I showed the link to the how to get started guide, WinMx users will probably already know the way to connect, Vargas knows that. If members would like to try the Lopster or the Sunshine filesharing client, I can help.
Thats what you need to connect.

First, to connect, you do need to download some software, dont worry, it's free.
I do recommend though Lopster as I know it well and has many extra features you can download it here

http://sourceforge.net/project/downloading.php?group_id=66404&use_mirror=heanet&filename=winlop-1.2.2-Win32-0.10.zip&18471051

this is the link to the Guide, ..with screen shots...

http://z15.invisionfree.com/Imagine_If/index.php?showtopic=21&view=findpost&p=4882570

If you like, I will edit this post with the address of a few other free clients that can connect, then there is a choice. The beginner, will probably find the "Sunshine"client easiest to configure and a great "chat" client..... I will search for it...

here it is http://www.networksunshine.de/versions.php?file=downloads%2FSunshineUN-1.4.1.2-Beta-4.1-2.exe&versionslanguage=com&language=com&version=Beta+4.1-2

If you open the Sunshine application you will be presented with a wizard; fill in your nick when asked for it and password. Fill them in, and then click next or something, you will be asked to show the destination for downloads and shared files, you will see it's easy to find the right folders; carry on untill your reach the page where you have to fill in the server's name; check the screenshot below..

http://www.mensap2p.com//Rafi/SP32-20070314-204939.jpg

...However part of the server's name is hidden, the full name is :

FileSharingTalk.mensap2p.com , fill that in the top box, the port is clearly 2007 fill that in in the second box and the network name is Mensa

I think you then click next and you connect, and will probably end up here ...

You could try port 3456 as an alternative :)
'
You can also get preconfigured server's lists for the mainline clients at this address

http://www.gotnap.com/index.php?loc=client

Well we had a maximum of 512 users logged in, with thousands of gigs, data (36), if it carries on like that, It will be needing a mod to help keep things under controll...

well...I have shut it down for now, after a succesful 30 hour experiment, there was a max of 700 users online , sharing around 40,000 gigs data, if anyone is interested in continuing the project, feel free to contact me :)

Still waiting for those 99%'s torrents to complete and hassles over your ratio, then I have the perfect solution for you..Why not Join the test, FilesharingTalk server :)... this guide shows you how to connect using the popular and easy to configure, Sunshine FileSharing Client ....if you wish for multi-sourcing and higher speeds, then I suggest the Lopster client.... I will make a guide for that too, later...

here we go then :)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------How to get connected to FileSharingTalk.mensap2p.com:2007
in images... :o
First..download the Sunshine Filesharing client here... (http://www.networksunshine.de/versions.php?file=downloads%2FSunshineUN-1.4.1.2-Beta-4.1-2.exe&versionslanguage=com&language=com&version=Beta+4.1-2) , to your desktop

http://www.mensap2p.com//Rafi/FST.com/SP32-20070315-100358.jpg
Here you decide the drive to install it to c:/programs drive is default and this will be OK in most cases...
http://www.mensap2p.com//Rafi/FST.com/SP32-20070315-100407.jpg
http://www.mensap2p.com//Rafi/FST.com/SP32-20070315-100622.jpg
Your Nick (screen name and password here, if you add FST to your nick you will be added to the server's friends list!)
http://www.mensap2p.com//Rafi/FST.com/SP32-20070315-100658.jpg
http://www.mensap2p.com//Rafi/FST.com/SP32-20070315-100707.jpg

:o
You will see your download folder here, it will be good to remove it as no one wants your incomplete files ;) Highlight it and click remove and now you are ready to start searching for and adding the folders you wish to share ...
http://www.mensap2p.com//Rafi/FST.com/SP32-20070315-100744.jpg
http://www.mensap2p.com//Rafi/FST.com/SP32-20070315-100755.jpg
http://www.mensap2p.com//Rafi/FST.com/SP32-20070315-100801.jpg
Now click add folder and a menu will open so you can browse to the folder/s you wish to share..click OK and now you can repeat that process, if you wish to add more folders...
http://www.mensap2p.com//Rafi/FST.com/SP32-20070315-100920.jpg
http://www.mensap2p.com//Rafi/FST.com/SP32-20070315-100923.jpg

http://www.mensap2p.com//Rafi/FST.com/SP32-20070315-101219.jpg
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now it's time to add ( manually) the name of the server you want to join, you will notice that the port 8888 is already filled in...you must change that to port 2007 or 3456 ....
http://www.mensap2p.com//Rafi/FST.com/SP32-20070315-101000.jpg
http://www.mensap2p.com//Rafi/FST.com/SP32-20070315-101118.jpg
The full name which you can't quite see in the screen shot is, FileSharingTalk.mensap2p.com fill that in in the top window.... and get some coffee :)
http://www.mensap2p.com//Rafi/FST.com/SP32-20070315-101154.jpg
Now you are one step away, I think :) ...click ok..and Sunshine will attempt to log you on...if you can let me know your nick in advance, then I can add you to the server's friends list, that gives you priviledges..like always being able to log on even when the server is full and more...

Now to join the Chat, click on the Chat tab, top left, and then click "join" bottom right, and a menu will appear ..with the full list of channels, you may even create a private channel for yourself, with a name of your own choice..... Highlight the channel you wish to join, then click OK, you will join the channel of your choice. Those who know irc commands will have a headstart... use this command for help information >help or /help in the chat channel.

http://www.mensap2p.com//Rafi/FST.com/SP32-20070315-110706.jpg
oh, and welcome, try a search for that file you have always been trying to find but up until now so elusive ... :)

Yesterday there was a maximum of 750+ users logged on..and one user Nanotek , using Lopster, actually managed to reach the chat room :)

I shall be linking another server to FileSharingTalk.mensap2p.com later today to see if I can make it the server with the most members logged in...yesterday, we were halfway up the tables here

It seems we're all pretty interested, but we can't get connected. Perhaps a full, tested guide is in order?

What sort of speeds can one expect? Say, with a 5MB connection.

At the moment there are 832 users logged in..those who are in logged in hang on, I will try and find you.... ..You can search for the Scrabble Channel, pit your wits against, "Bron"while I set the coffee.. We use mainly the Round_Table as main chat..but for your convenience I have created a lounge and a study... if you wish a more personalised name, you can easily create your own

:)
Well jetje has found it...logged in with thousands of file shared :w00t: The more files the higher the network is in the tables at Gotnap...

Tip: Running a SlavaNap server, is actually easier to learn and linked into a (FileSharingTalk.com) network, than learning to connect with a file-sharing client like WinMx ..if you would like to link and you have a fast connection and at least 1 gigabyte RAM..preferably two..you could contact me and I will help you get started :)

Why do you keep telling us about how many people are logged on, when this thread is full of people who can't?

If you want us to join, give us a working guide ffs. :frusty:

i managed to get connected after all the timing out connections, it seems that if your using the lopster client u need to remove "emulate winmx" function to get on the server

The guide I made for Lopster is here skizo,..

http://z15.invisionfree.com/Imagine_If/index.php?showtopic=21

the other I dumped in the danger-zone, where I fear to tread without being accompanied by a mod......

..it's just I didn't realise so many members would join it..and it was just for a laugh...anyway...

However..for those that do fear to tread unaccompanied and would like to try the Sunshine client, I created this visual guide here http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/bittorrent/t-fed-up-bittorrent-164380

I am available for help on logging in..and once in..well join the Scrabble room until I have "found You"in the console...; if you create a "scrabble word" from the letter combination you receive...correctly, I will see you in the scores list! Here are two scrabble-bot commands: !scores and !repeat for a repeat of the letter combination...there is a prize involved...you will receive a message and be added to the server's friends list.

NB:- one more thing :)..once you have your clients correctly configured, you will see many more networks in the servers list. The lopster client picks up a list automatically if you "right click" on the servers page and choose"refresh" Some of the networks I can really recommend visiting are, : Darkservers: Amber: World Music: Zandpiloot: Satan's Home: BoogieDogs: Ballad: Dutchleech: stopped .....and of course mine :)

No, it's up with one linked server..and nearly 900 users online...If you would like to have more control over your Filesharing experience..then why not run a SlavaNap filesharing server on your home computer..it's a small program... It could be up an running within an hour.. you will need quite a fast computer and at least 1> 2 gigs RAM...you can find more info in this thread. http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/everything-related-board/t-filesharingtalkcom-slavanap-server-163745 .and maybe raise your post count ;)

..So, if you would like to feel what it's like to be God, in his own Heaven, where you make the rules, then a SlavaNap FileSharing Server is a "must have" for Easter...

This is what one looks like ( the console view: notice you can see what users are searching for and whose logging in and out ...and much more )

for more information about starting your own Custom FileSharing Server, run on your own broadband connection..check the SlavaNap forums, here...

..it's all for free and guaranteed free of spyware too..

Nice guide. Thank you.

Thanks eric, but I wouldn't suggest you use this guide ...the one below is better, as Adster rightfully pointed. You could say that the Sunshine client is the Prawn of filesharing clients, and Lopster the Lobster of clients..you could, but that would be silly....

For you eric, this guide is more suitable... http://z15.invisionfree.com/Imagine_If/index.php?showtopic=21

At the moment Skizo, there is this guide, using the Sunshine client, there is a link about the second post, to using the Lopster client howto do guide http://z15.invisionfree.com/Imagine_If/index.php?showtopic=21; which I recommend. Vargas is nearly ready completing his WinMx guide, I hope we can get it posted very soon.
The numbers are in the meantime building on the servers and the Seedit server has been added to the young, dynamic FileSharingTalk network... you can keep up to date here.. http://www.gotnap.com/index.php?loc=list

..you will have to scroll down a little...for now! I hope to reach the top of that list and you can all help, by learning to log on and share files ...

If you would like to try to run a SlavaNap File-Sharing server on your computer and link in to the new FileSharingTalk network...contact me, it could be up an running within hours... and you could go down in history. :yup:

Here is Vargas's WinMx guide http://z15.invisionfree.com/Imagine_If/index.php?showtopic=210&st=0&#entry8634808

's Guide to help you connect to FileSharingTalk filesharing network using the popular WinMx client

How to get connected to FileSharingTalk network with WinMX
in images... :o

First..download the WinMX 3.54 beta 4 with PIE Patch v3.2 (http://stashbox.org/14379/WinMX%203.54%20beta%204%20Reloaded.exe) installer, to your desktop (If you don't have WinMX already installed)
http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/4648/clipboard02yw7.png
Here you decide the folder to install it to
C:\Program Files\WinMX is default and this will be OK in most cases...
http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/5159/clipboard04kg7.png
http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/4116/clipboard06zl8.png
http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/8374/clipboard08mh0.png
The "MXPIE patch" (that allows WinMX to connect to the WinMX network) modifys the HOSTS file.
Some antivirus, firewalls block modification of the HOSTS file.
If there is a problem after you install, reinstall with those items turned off.
Also provided is a manual way to modify your HOSTS file (MXpie v3.2 Manual.zip) if you would prefer to do the change yourself. located in C:\Program Files\WinMX
After you have installed the patch, then run WinMX from the desktop shortcut.
http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/8664/clipboard10ch5.png
the setup wizard should be self explanitory.
http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/4794/clipboard12kn6.png
Your Nick (screen name and password here, if you add FST to your nick you will be added to the server's friends list!)
http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/4518/clipboard14qp5.png
Add your shares
http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/5753/clipboard16go8.png
Starting WinMX
http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/3641/clipboard18tp8.png
Download and save http://stashbox.org/15230/fst.wsx to disk, then press the "OpenNap Protocol Networks" tab, and press the "Import .WSX" button and select the fst.wsx serverlist from where you saved it.
http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/2159/clipboard20nj5.png
Then select the [FileSharingTalk] network and hit "connect"
You should be good to go, if you have any questions or problems feel free to ask.
Happy File Sharing.

hey, nice guide there! i might try it sometime, thanks!

Thanks m8!

I will be breaking all those links to the guides on my website, and create a guide for the lopster multisourcing client and the Utatane client and paste it here.

Lopste is a fast client and can keep up easily with Bittorrent speeds and seeing that their are millions more files being shared on our networks, your chance of finding that elusive file and downloading it within minutes is actually greater than on a bittorrent site! By the time your file starts on utorrent, you are relaxed in the Round_Table chat room on Mensa..and playing it over your headphones!
