A Program To Convert .rm Files To Mpeg?

I downloaded TMPGEnc, but I'm guessing that's only for .avi. Is there a program to convert .rm files?

try to get the newest tmpeg and install the realplayer alt (if you dont have realplayer) i can usally convert .rm to mpeg

I already have both programs, but I'm still confussed why it won't work.

Tmpgenc will not convert rm.

You need EOVIDEO to convert RM to avi or mpeg (mpeg1,vcd or svcd).

The latest shareware version of eovideo is v1.35.

Else use TINRA to it's a freeware program to convert to avi then use tmpgenc to make the mpeg. Don't forget to get the frontend gui to make it easier or else it's a line app only.

Oh my god, I love this program! I gave up searching for a program to convert Realmedia files long ago. EO Video does it perfectly, plus it also converts .mov and .wmv files (the only output options are .avi, .mpg, or .wav though). Another thing I like about it is that it joins avi's or mpg's quickly and easily (as long as they're all the same resolution and compression). It converts. It joins. It splits. And it's extremely simple to use. My only real complaint is that you can't cut a selected portion out of a video, but there's always TMPGEnc for that.

No, select MPEG as your output format, and select VCD under compression. Then select your TV format (NTSC if you live in USA, PAL in Europe or Japan I think). Then you have to decide how the program should deal with the resolution change. Click on &#39;Picture Fitting&#39; and select &#39;Fit to Size&#39; if you want it to stretch the image (which usually makes people look tall and skinny), or &#39;Maintain Aspect&#39; if you want to keep the original aspect ratio, but it&#39;ll add black bands at the top & bottom or on both sides to make up for the extra space (this is the method I prefer). Your other settings should have been set automatically when you selected NTSC or PAL, so leave them alone.

You will see that option when you click on the Output button on the left. If you do need to split it, I suggest using the Player (or another program) to view the movie, and select a point more than half way though when there is a break in the action (like a scene change). Take note of the exact time index where you want the first CD to end, and put that number in the top box next to the Split option.

Now select you destination folder and filename. If you chose to split, it will automatically add a &#39;00&#39; and &#39;01&#39; after each part&#39;s name. Then click on the Convert button and then on the Start button.

If it&#39;s a large movie, it could very well take several hours to complete. Once it&#39;s finished, you can use NERO (or other burning software) to burn you mpeg to a VCD.

I wonder if there&#39;s a freeware version of this, or if someone has it for download? I&#39;m kinda broke so I can&#39;t pay for it after 30 days :(. Oh well, I&#39;ll look around.

hey, i just found it on kazaa alite, must be my lucky night :D. Do a search for "EO Video" it should come up, but I only saw one person sharing it. I also saw a KeyGen up for it, not sure how that will work so I just went and downloaded the full version as well as that.
