About the rep system..

People that reach +50 replace their little green thingys for a different logo saying "Trusted member" or something like that? It's just odd that people that are so trusted and do a heck of a lot in the BT section get green... well, thingys.. Dunno, just something I thought about.

Yeah, but they are acting contrary to the concept of private trackers and in a lot of instances breaking the rules of the trackers.

So they are trusted by other people like themselves, but not decent members of the private trackers, whose security they are compromising.

Well, in theory the whole BT section is out of order cos it screws the concept of private trackers, but when you have people trading high value trackers, trading with someone who has 50+ rep points, can probably be trusted not to screw the deal... but ho hum, was just a brainstorm :)

Agreed. Fucking up other people's security and privacy is now acceptable it seems.

The majority of the private trackers you say they are screwing have actually made arrangements with FST. Some of them have accounts here, and cooperate with us on a certain scale.

Invite trading is actually pretty widely excepted, it's the trading of accounts that they don't like.

In reply to you Tralala, anyone that has that high of a trading rep is pretty active in the BT section, so they are well known. What would be the reason to inform people that already know they are trusted, that they really are?

It's the people using the trackers who's security they are compromising.

Inviter trading does that, because it means people who are not known get onto private trackers. Don't tell me that people who "trade" here know the people they are trading with, it's nonsense. They join here, make 10 inane posts, wait 30 days and then swap invites with other people who have done the same thing.

How is that compatible with privacy.

As to rep, all that means is that the guy actually gave the other one what he asked for. FFS if law enforcement were doing it you would expect them to have a good rep. That's exactly what they would want.

Bit torrent will die, all systems do. However this is just helping to speed it along. Private trackers will become no different to public ones.

@Damnatory: All I thought, is that this logo or star or whatever would be a sort of goodwill thing they have achieved.. More or less like posting over 10,000 posts (change of stars), so the rep system could have something similar done with it as it is widely used :)

It is good idea , people who is willing to trade would feel much trusting when they deal with trusted logo trader ; )
