is there a program that sticks 2 parts of a movie together?
Windows Movie Maker will do it, but it's slow as hell.
I use WinAVI Video Converter 7.7 and I like it. It will convert move than just AVIs too.

nandub if u just want to join 2 videos together

Please avoid WindowsMovieMaker at all costs.
Virtualdub can do it with only avi and mpg files here is a guide on it http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/virtualdub_join_avi.cfm
or see below
VirtualDub: Joining AVI files
If you have multiple AVI (http://www.afterdawn.com/glossary/terms/avi.cfm) files that you would like to join together (like if you made a DVDRip (http://www.afterdawn.com/glossary/terms/dvdrip.cfm) before and ended up with two 700MB AVI files, then you might want to join them together) then this guide will show you how to do just that with VirtualDUB.
Introduction & Requirements
VirtualDUB (http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/virtualdub.cfm) - You need this excellent tool to join two AVI files together.
This will not work for files that have different framerates (http://www.afterdawn.com/glossary/terms/framerate.cfm), codecs (http://www.afterdawn.com/glossary/terms/codec.cfm) or resolutions (http://www.afterdawn.com/glossary/terms/resolution.cfm). The idea is that we will add the two files together quickly without having to do any re-encoding.
Step. 1 - File --> Open Video File
http://i.afterdawn.com/v3articles/javivdub_1.gif Launch VirtualDub and open the first AVI file in the sequence of videos you want to join by selecting File--> Open video file.
Step. 2 - Open First AVI file
http://i.afterdawn.com/v3articles/javivdub_2.gif Find the first AVI file, select it and then click Open. You will now see it open in VirtualDUB. If the program says it's unable to locate a decompressor, then you will have to find the appropriate codec at AfterDawn. I recommend you install FFDShow (http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/codecs_and_filters/ffdshow.cfm).
Step. 3 - Scroll to the end of the file
http://i.afterdawn.com/v3articles/javivdub_3.gif Drag the slider straight to the end of the video stream. Make sure it is set on the very last frame.
Step. 4 - File --> Append AVI Segment
http://i.afterdawn.com/v3articles/javivdub_4.gif Now after you have made sure the last frame is selected, click File --> Append AVI Segment and the File Browser will pop up again.
Step. 5 - Open Second AVI file
http://i.afterdawn.com/v3articles/javivdub_5.gif Locate the second AVI file, select it and click Open, the second file should now be added to the end of the first file. Now this is where you will get problems if you have file with separate framerates (http://www.afterdawn.com/glossary/terms/framerate.cfm), resolutions (http://www.afterdawn.com/glossary/terms/resolution.cfm) or codecs (http://www.afterdawn.com/glossary/terms/codec.cfm).
Step. 6 - Video --> Direct Stream Copy
http://i.afterdawn.com/v3articles/javivdub_6.gif Now we have to make sure that you don't end up with decompressed Video (which would probably result in a file 100's of GB's in size). Click Video --> Direct Stream Copy. This is very important, do not forget this.
Step. 7 - Audio --> Direct Stream Copy
http://i.afterdawn.com/v3articles/javivdub_7.gif Just as we had to with Video, we just have to make sure that you won't wind up with uncompressed Audio (LPCM (http://www.afterdawn.com/glossary/terms/lpcm.cfm)). Click Audio --> Direct Stream Copy. This is very important, do not forget this.
Step. 8 - File --> Save As AVI
http://i.afterdawn.com/v3articles/javivdub_8.gif Now you are ready to save an AVI file. Click File --> Save As AVI, select where you want to save a new AVI file and then it will only take a few minutes at most to save it.
Any other troubles
If you have any troubles with this method it is most likely due to different sampling rates for the audios in each piece. To eliminate this problem (or cure it if you have tried using regular Virtual Dub) you will need a modification of Virtual Dub coined Virtual Dub Mp3 Freeze which is available here: Virtual Dub MP3 Freeze (http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=Virtualdub_MP3_Freeze)
Run that and use above guide as normal.
Finally
Hopefully this will have helped you to join two AVI files together. If you have any problems or questions, please visit our Discussion Forums (http://forums.afterdawn.com/) to ask there.

how do u use these programs?
how do u use these programs?
Do you think we're going to give you a tutorial on all of the recommendations?
Have you even experimented with them yet? Did you look at 100%'s post? It even includes a walkthrough. What more do you need?
It's upsetting when someone takes the time to post help, but the n00bs don't even bother to read the posts. :dabs:
Most software have guides how to use their software either in their help files or on their sites.
Did i just type that?
@skiz it will never stop.

We're not perfect bro, but we see this everyday in these sections - members asking for advice and then just not reading. It's pretty annoying at times.
