List of Fake Trackers

The Evil Empires (MPAA, RIAA, and anti-piracy agencies) have been known to trap people into downloading fake torrents. These fake torrents are hosted on fake trackers configured into collecting IP addresses of all the people who attempt to download the file. Many TorrentPortal members have come across such fake torrents and trackers. Some of the signs are downloads stopping at a specific percent completion and fake files in passworded RAR archives.

This thread will provide an updated list of the known fake trackers. If you find a torrent that is hosted by a tracker in this list, please report the torrent to a moderator for removal (please include the link to the torrent).

What I have heard is that you don't get the chance to finish the download, and since they are the ones providing the files how do you know that they are actually real? You don't, which probably means that they are also fake.

Checkout the fakefinder maintained by fenopy.com. You can even search for hashes of your torrent to see whether the fake trackers are there on your torrent.
