Anyone know if it's possible to install the quicktime plugin in firefox without installing their atrocious program? Much like the flash plugins?
I guess other people think the QuickTime player sucks too ;) Install QuickTime Alternative, it will play QuickTime files (.mov, .qt, etc.), as well as those embedded in websites.

It asks you what you want to install if I remember correctly. Just uncheck it all.

QuickTime Alternative
That's all :D
Quick time has become really bloated. Dont forget the DRM too...

and the nagware for upgrading to pro. QTA FTW!
I don't like the QTA. I don't see what the big deal is to use normal QT either. Turn off the upgrade to Pro thing by just checking the box.
And it's 70MB ffs. It's not like anyone has a 8GB HDD anymore. I have 500GB of storage - I could care less if a program is 70MB. :wank:
Adobe Reader is almost twice that at 120MB, and Winamp is close at 55MB, yet I don't ever hear anyone trying to save a couple MB by using alternatives to those.

I'm aware that there is a PDF alternative, just like there are lots of media players to chose from, but you don't see Adobe and Winamp programs being "dissed" around every corner.
Everyone seems to pick on Quicktime.

Thanks for all the replies, I'm going to try out the QT alternative.
Skizo, I never realized you were such a fanboy. Seriously though, I'm really unsure what it is I hate about QT, but there is definitely more than one reason. Not to mention the plug-in browser rarely works...
