i have 9800 pro installed on my A8v deluxe model board with Amd 3500+ CPU and a gig of ram
if i dont manualy decrease the 8X AGP to 4X In my Bios i get restarted as soon as i start the game(lets say Half life 2 in this case:) ).
i have updated my Bios to its last version! and got a better power supply (480)!
can someone tell me y?

This may sound funny but take some wax paper like the sandwich kind and wipe the gold part of the agp card, the male part then reinsert . Check the fan while your at it .

He's thinking there may be corrosion (or just plain crap) on the contacts.
Unlikely but possible, it doesn't hurt to check.

Maybe try updating the vid card drivers.
