A few days ago i started to notice shit download speeds, when its normal im getting about 400-600k but its gone down to 5-6k to about 16-25k , Ive tried resetting the shitty Bt Hub thing over n over and i think i've buggered it, so i've left it on for a day and still its the same, Ive read somewhere that if you leave it alone for 3 days it sorts the speed out itself but i just wanted to ask what anyone thinks the problem might be, im tired of looking for answers so i'm getting langered on Guinness to drown out my poor download speed troubles. :drunk:

Everyone I know with BT are complaining about speeds at the moment. Even me.

It's worst in the evenings.

I suggest you pish into your floppy drive.

Enable protocol encryption.

I do and my speeds are fine.

Maybe the sources are ..slow? Or It's coincidental. Try a popular (small) torrent to help you benchmark your speed. One with loads of seeds. Do a tweak test at this site http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks to optmize your connection. You might need an account. On the same site somewhere, you can check your speed too. :)

These are the results I just made http://www.dslreports.com/tweakr/block:2ba5d23?service=dsl&speed=24000&os=winXP&via=normal

Nah ive got many fast sources, it's either my shitty computer, my shitty router hub thingy or my shitty ISP.

i ngot 700k today but then this evening it dropped back to 35k so i think its just the peak times that are fast or slow.

If you share a cable connection, then that could also explain the problem. It's particularly noticeable around "peak hours"when people arrive home;check their mail and set their torrent clients back on etc...
