To help spread the word I wanted to post our maintenance info for tomorrow:

On Thursday 28 March 2007, We experienced a failure of a 250 amp breaker in one of our primary power distribution units (PDU). In order to repair the failed breaker we had to shutdown the PDU and all the equipment that was connected to it. The repairs took a little over an hour to complete.
When the breaker failed only one phase of the breaker went out leaving two phases on-line. The failure resulted in the supply cables to overheat and compromise their integrity. Our electricians have strongly recommended that we replace all three 150 feet (each) of the supply lines. We have scheduled the replacement for Monday 2 April 2007 at 11:30 GMT.

During the replacement we will shutdown all our equipment again. We expect to have a total downtime of less than 8 hours.

The work is being pushed to Tuesday 8am EDT. The electricians did not order enough grounding wire and will begin work on Tuesday.

will you be back filling ?

The news peering servers will still be operational, so when the main farm comes back up it will simply start feeding what has been queued. (no data loss)

We are about to start letting users connect. We will slowly allow more connections on each frontend over the next hour. During the next hour you may still get connection refused errors (10061).
