I have heard through my correspondents that namzuf9 is planning something special for his significant other.

Could the lounge help our chum with some ideas. Details and pictures if possible, however not essential.

I have made a wee suggestion elsewhere myself. Here are some of the details. Amended to make relevant of course.

The Causeway Hotel does not overlook the Giantīs Causeway itself. However it is only a 5 minute walk. The scenery round the area is spectacular. Make sure you eat at the hotel whilst there. Try the mixed grill, it is death by meat. Also make sure you get freshly baked wheaten bread if you do go, like I said the food at the hotel is fabulous. The hospitality is excellent

The Bushmills distillery is only a mile or so away and you can organise a tour, interesting if you like whiskey (with an e - no not ecstacy with drink thatīs just stupid)

http://www.irish-whiskey-trail.com/bushmill/bushmi~1.jpg

Well worth a weekend of good food, excellent scenery and things of interest.

Co. Donegal in the Republic of Ireland has my bet for a bit of quality time together in peace and quiet.
Donegal town and the surrounding areas have many sights to visit.

Come on people letīs put some effort in

http://www.donegaltown.ie/

Anyone who knows the area (crazy billy) letīs get some personal recommendations - places to eat and places to see. Maybe a wee pub.

Nothing better than a personal recommendation.

You could try the moon. I understand it's very beatiful there with some of the best scenery on the planet ( I mean the planet moon of course ( which aint quite a planet yet and probably never will be). Gawd! Cant quite master these bracket things!

It's not exactly hospitable but it is peaceful and quiet. For entertainment there is the reduced gravity effect type stuff - which I am sure would provide many hours of amusement.

Transport might be a problem as it's pretty expensive for a return ticket and needs to be booked about 10 years in advance.

Alternatively you could try the Greek isle of Zante and whilst you are there visit the beautiful Banana Beach.

Its hot - pretty quiet and beautiful in non moon like ways but just as good if not better - and it' warmer too!

I have been in the North on many occassions, never the South. I have never felt in any way intimidated or uncomfortable. However I live in Glasgow so that may explain it.

Seriously it really is just a case of being sensible. e.g. If I spend time in Belfast I either do it with locals or take advice on where I should and shouldnīt go. If anyone were visiting Glasgow, or Newcastle, or Liverpool etc etc they would be well advised to do the same thing.

you should check the south out man, it is really very nice.

or Donegal as i have said for a quieter one, perhaps with a special someone :D

That sounds really good. I love to just wander about places I've never been and taking in all the sights, sounds and smells of unknown surroundings.
I think a lot of people nowdays overlook the peacefulness of small towns in favour of tourist resorts.
It sounds like the ideal place to romance with her indoors!

Once again; Thanks you guys.

Best place you can take her (http://www.silentnight.co.uk/dreambed/bed/result.asp?type=ks&collection=Latex)

The best you can get, comfortable, king-size and has storage. Gets my recommendation.
Be creative and you will be able to transport her anywhere she wants to be .....................

I agree. We never go to tourist resorts or that sort of thing. Our personal favourite place is the west coast of Scotland, between Arisaig and Mallaig.

To be really specific.

http://www.scotlandthemovie.com/movies/photos/cammb1.jpg

Camusdarch Beach. This is where the beach scenes in Local Hero were filmed. Do you remember the helicopter coming in to land.

The Good Lady and I sat there at sunset, it was empty other than us and we drank a bottle of chilled Bolinger. With the view out to Eigg and Rhum.

http://www.scotcolour.com/westernpm/images/eiggrhumfrmorar.jpg

We then went to a local hotel and had dinner. I will never forget that evening. Heaven on earth.

Also, don't be selfish. If things go well and she french kisses big jim, don't forget she wants something from it too. Personally, I recommend these (http://ww3.sextoysex.com/sex/start/view.html?a=brides&pnum=T4025). There also cheaper then they used to be and should fit the budget.

No offence taken mate. It was just a figure of speech. Also bear in mind that I am 76. You remember less when you get to my age.

Now, if we're talking Scottish West Coast, Kyle of Lochalsh (http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/kyleoflochalsh/kyleoflochalsh/) is a great base to stay while exploring. The Mace corner shop in the village sells THE best bread I have ever tasted! Although there's not much to do in Kyle itself for more than an hour or so, the surrounding area is absolutely gorgeous, and plenty to do and take in within a few miles.

From there, you can take mountain walks, try the ferry (not the road bridge) over to Skye, visit the castle (forget the name) where part of Highlander was filmed. Plockton (a few miles away) has the best "seal spotting" boat trips.
http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/plockton/plockton/images/point.jpg
Plockton

Glenelg has the most charming candle shop & cafe. Just watch out around there for the nutcase who seems to collect old Reliant cars!

Glenelg Candle Shop/Cafe

The only thing to be careful of is the damned midges!

I guess I'm fond of that place because it's the place I got engaged when on holiday, so is it special? It worked for me! :D

Note: It's also not too much farther north than Mallaig as mentioned earlier, so if you planned on travelling round a bit, do both!

Nice one

Eilean Donnan Castle is where they filmed the start of the Highlander Films.

http://www.universaltrainingsolutions.co.uk/trainees/gordon/images/cast1.jpg

Plockton was where the television series Hamish McBeth Was Filmed.

http://www.scotlandthemovie.com/hamish/scen/strome.jpg

I have stayed and dined at both. I may even have had a small sherry.
