Well guys, I've been seeing Portable Microsoft Office 2007 out and about.

It looks like someone has taken JauntePE (http://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=1238) and used it to totally integrate all the functions of Office 2007 into a single .exe so you can run it as a standalone application.

Looks interesting. I might have to invest in a 1 GB flash drive.

The file is 236 MB rared and 572 MB or something around there unrared.

From the site.

"...I must stress JauntePE is pre-alpha software, so use it at your own peril!..."

It is also worth remembering that Microsoft changed the default file format again and a lot of people feel no need to upgrade so you need to remember to save as .doc if you want to send files to other people.

I just tested it out today and it worked 100%!

When you click on the single .exe file, it does its business then opens the program perfectly.

It says it is by Thinstaller (you can google their company name).

I think this is great! Now if I forget to save as .doc instead of .docx I can just use this standalone Word 2007 to view it!

You dont have to save as .docx, you can still save as regular .doc.
