Converting dvd to xvid help

Hi,can someone please tell me what the best program is for converting vob files to xvid.

You'll need to burn the DVD to and .iso first, you can use DVDShrink for that (http://www.dvdshrink.org) (http://www.dvdshrink.org%29).

You cant really say or recommend "the best" but i've literally tried loads of different programs, commercial and free and now I am using a free one called staxrip which ive found to be excellent. Very good on the speed side but also gives great results ( even playing on my 42" plasma).
