I never really understood using usenet that well, could someone point me in the direction to learning how to get started? Which client should I use to download, what are some ways to find the good newsgroups? I'm sure a lot of people here can offer me some input because I have no clue! Thanks in advance hope I'm not too annoying already.

Try searching the forum a little bit before asking the same question next time please :(. Two topics under this one has the same question you're asking. But, here's a guide: http://www.angelfire.com/gundam/newsgroupguide/

Do you want to use usenet for actual newsgroup browsing and posting or just downloading programs like the majority?

If your after downloading then join www.newzbin.com and use this as your search program. Probably the most popular newsreader is newsleecher so download this.

Sign upto a good usenet server, im using www.usenetserver.com. 100 days retention so whats on there is available long term.

Then just use newzbin so save nzb files and open these files, this will place the files to be downloaded into newsleecher and the program gets downloaded.
