Does anyone like watching a program called "robot wars"? it's called robot wars in the uk, not sure about anywhere else.
basically the idea of the program is that some (sad) people build remote controlled monstrosities costing thousands of pounds. then they go to a shed somewhere and run them into each other until one of them doesn't work any more.
is this the most stupid idea in the world?

the main reason i find it annoying though, is that when robot wars is on tv here, it takes the place of the simpsons.

i hate robot wars. really, really, hate it.
i am vehemently opposed to it and the world shall be a better place when the robots rust away to nothing.

ok, i'll make this easy for you scribbler.
go and get a tv guide, go to today's page.
look on bbc2 at 6:00pm.
what do you see?
i'll tell you, i know you're a little slow, so i'll make it easy for you: "Robot Wars Extreme"
what's usually on at 6:00pm on bbc2 on monday?
the simpson's.
therefore robot wars is taking the place of the simpsons.

by the way, calling me stupid is brilliant. i mean, it's really accurate, i'm sure you're more intelligent then me.

here's a quote for you from the usual suspects: "i'm smarter than you"
and another: "people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones"

fuck you bitch, stay on topic

We had a couple of similar shows on here in the States- BattleBots comes to mind- but they seem to have faded away lately.

I always thought it would be a blast to build one. All the ones I saw looked so inept and pitiful. Never could find a sugar daddy with the bucks, though.

i think you can actually build them quite cheaply, but you would need the know-how.

then again, who could be fucked going on such a stupid show anyway?

by the way that prick who comments it is the same dick who comments for channel 5 football (yes i had it on once for about 10 seconds....and that was it....)

I used to like robot wars in the beginning, when it was a bunch of eccentrics knocking together a robot for £25 and some Tescos coupons.

Now it's just an excuse for middle aged blokes going through the midlife crisis and "competitive dad" types who shout at the kids and won't let the poor bugger have a go, to see who can spend the most money.

Now, Scrapheap Challenge (Junkyard Wars I think in the US) is a different story altogether. That does involve some skill, initiative and creative thinking B)

Here, we have robot wars AND Battle bots.

Battle bots rules. It is much better than robot wars.
