The wep and wap is almost easy to crack and there is alot of hacking guides.

Therefor i use the mac filtering + wep to give the hackers hard time :D

I leave the wireless open and sniff the traffic of people using it.

What do you gain by sniffing the traffic Zaphodiv?

Porn. General amusement.

There is plenty of bandwidth so I don't care if people use it to check their email or surf a bit. I keep an eye on it to see what people are up to. Port 25 outgoing is blocked in case of malware infected machines spewing spam.

I use open access points to get email when I'm out and about so I provide bandwidth for other people doing the same here. I see handheld devices connect now and again, more than I expected. Some of the visitors are probably people nearby accidentally connecting to my wireless instead of theirs. Power+rooftop antenna gets out well, people in the street with a piece of crap such as a BT home hub probably get a stronger signal from me in their house.

I thik it's a pity that windows messenger service is now off by default so you usually can't send a popup message saying "You know your harddrive is shared read/write? Stick around while I copy your mp3's!". Typical microsoft stupidity, they left it open to the world, people got popup spam so they turned it off totally instead of having the sense to limit it to LAN use.

Sorry buddy, but once you get the mac address, that can be easily spoofed (though it take a little more time to get it) and then just use wireshark or cain and abel to sniff your traffic and speed it up so you get enough packets, then bam. byebye wep. you may want to switch to WPA..

Oh, and default router passwords will kill you... And don't forget causing a hard reset sets it back to default password.
