If you configure your firewall in vista , than you won't get any problem .
Try to cheack the reliability of your hardware with the vista release.

I would suggest turning off the UAC. You still have the firewall, but not as intrusive.

Of course you might think differently. I would rather reinstall after 3 weeks cuz of a virus than deal with that damn UAC.
