Finally got the money together for a new laptop.

Which would you choose.

Mainly graphics editing.
Have been offered a side job for video editing...

Those are two very similar machines. You'll find the design and fit-and-finish on the MacBook to be alot better than anything Dell puts out. As far as reliability goes, there were some issues with the MBs and MBPs when they were first released, but hose have more or less been worked out. Buying new now should be fairly safe. I can't speak for the M90, but having been a network administrator in charge of a large number of M20s and M70s, I can say that Dell's M-line are solid pieces of kit.

Looks like the Macbook would actually be less for you. Have you, or will you, used OS X at all? If that's of interest to you, there's no choice: Go for the MacBook. Even if you need to run Windows, it's capable of doing that, both natively and virtualized. (BootCamp will even now boot Vista, although I'm not sure to what level of performance0

I'd go for the Mac, all things being equal. But I'm a Machead. :)

I'll pick the Dell with Windows XP for better compatibility...
