I heard these bunch of video cards are out in the U.S. ranging around $140-150. What are your thoughts on it? I think it's bang for the buck. Getting a DirectX10 video card with Shader Model 4.0 at $150. I say it's an amazing price. Anyone playing to purchase it?

There are already preliminary benchmarks for the 8600 series and they're not THAT impressive. Right now the best bang for your buck is the 8800gts 320mb. The PNY version was going for 220$~ at newegg.com just a few days ago.

For 150$ its right below the 1950's and the 7900's..I like it.

nVidia? pftt, time to go back to ati. ati radeon hd 2900 series. all the performance (and maybe more) of that gforce 8 series and $200 cheaper!

I'll probably be getting one of these as my next card, hopefully the GTS, there's nothing wrong with the GT though.

no offense, but the whole PC enthusiast community has been waiting for MONTHS for the new ATi cards and they're nowhere in sight! Therefore, there's no point in making blatant promises like "200$ cheaper" when the cards are NOWHERE IN SIGHT
ATi really screwed up this generation, there's no denying it :frusty:

NVIDIA will do just as good so I don't think there should be MAJOR improvement in the bunch of ATI DirectX 10 video cards.
