Please provide details about what equipment you intend it to provide power for.

A power supply in that price range won't even be sufficient for the video card much less the entire PC.
What are the rest of the system specs?

I think you need to rethink your budget TBH, £30 may not be enough for anything good.

I had a look at a site in the UK to get an idea of the pricing there. I didn't find much decent at all in the 400w-and-above-range*. Nothing from the brands I usually choose.

*and I dunno if something as low as 400w is anywhere near enough to what you need, either.

As mentioned above we need to know what the specs of your pc are. 30 pounds is NOT sufficient for a power supply. Getting cheap generic junk will only cause you headaches in the future (sudden restarts, dead components, sudden shutdowns, instability etc...)

AMD Athlon 64 3800+
Radeon 9600xt Bravo
1gb RAM
2400 Ghz
200gb Maxtor SATA Hardrive
Creative SBLive! 5.1
450 power supply

what makes do you reckon i should go for then?

http://www.aria.co.uk/ ...i only buy my PC stuff from this shop, it's apparantly the best in the U.K or from where I live at least.

Is the 8800 gts to be included in that list of items to be powered?

The Seasonic (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Power+Supplies/500w+%2B/+Seasonic+600w+S12+Power+Supply?productId=24287) is a nice unit.
I've used one and thought it was very quiet and stable.
