I bought the card a few weeks ago, and everything worked flawlessly and even the load temperature was in the 40s. Ran very cool, so I OCed the stock speeds to 623/1580mhz, and the temperature didn't rise too much, to low 50s and was cool to the touch.
However since yesterday I started to get random artefacts in game, and after a while the monitor would go black, while the PC and sound would still be running. After a restart, I changed speeds back to stock and the temperature fell back to the 40s again. Even running stock now, I still get artefacts in game and just had my screen blacked out while playing DOD: source.
So, is my Gfx card dying? Can I prevent further damage? I'll RMA it soon probably. Only had it for a few weeks.:frusty:

The important thing is to know what the temps are under full load.
Now if you have damaged it from overheating while overclocked then I don't think it's right to RMA it. After all the problem was caused by you.

Under full load:
Stock=49C
OCed to 623/1580=54C
Also, if I RMA it, how would they know that I OCed it prevously?:blink:
Man that's pretty sad... you just got this thing too :(

Didn't you get an EVGA card? their warranty covers everything except physical damage. (that means they cover over clocking)

Freaking awesome.
RMAing it today:whistling
Just put together $150 or so anyway, so with the $160 from the 7900GS and the newly acquired $150 I'll proly get a 8800GTS 640mb:01:

I hope you have fun with that 8800GTS! I LOVE my superclocked one. Put EVERYTHING on max on 1680x1050 and it doesn't even slow down the frames one bit on C&C3.

Oh Seedler, did you pay for the advanced RMA?
My card is dying, so it looks like i'll be RMA'ing it pretty soon here. Hoping to get the 8800GTS 320mb (cant afford anything higher atm).
