what is the difference between the Kentsfield core and the conroe core? The Differences I noticed were frequency, cache and voltage (which can be atributed to cache size and frequence).

The kentsfield processor is simply 2 conroe cores on the same die.

There is no reason why any other differences are more than the usual evolutionary changes.
