DVDR without Eng Sub

Not all the DVDR with ENg sub out there.
i know there's some way to put the Eng to the DVDR, if you know some good ways , pls show me .
The subtitles we use to add into the DVDR is are the sub from subtitle sites for dvix ,xvid ? Is it the same ?
