So after a few trial and errors with Thinstall version 3.xx I finally was able to make a standalone .exe that runs Final Fantasy VII PC.

It had a few back and forth between screen resolutions, but successfully made it to the main screen.

If you don't know, Thinstall is an application that takes any program and basically makes it into a single .exe file. You'll probably find apps out there in torrent world with the -Thinstalled ending to them.

But I wanted to know if anyone would be interested in a standalone .exe for Final Fantasy VII. What this means is you can burn it on a dvd (since the .exe is ~1.1 GB) and play it directly on any computer without installing anything.

I just got it running tonite and I'm still testing it though.

Anyone interested?

Yeah it's a really cool program.

I'll keep on working on FF7 to add to my list of finished Thinstall apps/videogames

Damn, that saves people from installing the game on their comp!
You rock.

Yeah, it's great. I need to test it out on a few more computers before I release it.

But that shouldn't take too long now that finals are over.
