Digital breakup

It seems like in every episode of the deadliest catch I've downloaded, they have digital breakup somewhere. I'm wondering if that's codec(xvid) related because I haven't seen anyone mention it in the torrent comments?

Those are likely glitches in the capturing of the TV broadcast.
