Hi Guys

When building a new PC.

Is there a way to find out which way round to plug in the HDD Led, Power switch, Power Led, Reset switch and Speaker connectors to the JFp1 and JFP2 connectors.

Most user manuals show you where they plug in, but they do not tell you which way round they go eg positive and negative etc.

Which of these connectors is it important or necessary to get them the right way round ?

Any suggestions ?

Kind Regards

Do you have a specific board in mind?

Most are either color coded or have + indications.

See the + marks shown below:

Btw power switch, reset switch and speaker polarity doesn't matter. Only LED(s) are affected and if wrongly connected they just don't light up. Reversing solves that.

I thought it could burn your LED if you reversed the polarity.

No. It's a diode (Light Emitting Diode). It only conducts it one direction.

Anything thats basically a switch can go either way (power and reset) the others will be marked on the board with little + and - signs and on the wiring black is always negative and red or white (with the black) would then be positive.

try working it either way to see which side works.
you won't burn anything so don't worry
