Why is everyone choosing "mainstream" films? They usually have some production values, people who might have had some acting training in them and at least be professionally made. Some of the movies that MST3k have riffed on are absolutely terrible when watched by themselves, they make you wonder if anyone knew they were making anything other than a pile of dogshit.

Lucky of you not to have seen The Postman. I lost 2 hours of my life. He was in another horrendous movie The Gunrunner. What a godawful movie. And yet he ends up in Silverado, one of my favorites. The movies are a tail of extremes, but Costner's constantly bad in them.

I can pick any number of super old low-budget movies to shit on.

There can be categories of dislike like "I paid money to watch this at the theater" or "I was chillin' and watched this on cable".
To me there's a difference although some movies are just shit all the way around.

I liked The Postman and Waterworld even though Kevin Costner is a shit actor. (I never saw either at the movie theater)

LOTR weren't shit but they weren't the greatest either. They had "OMG THAREZ LOTS OF PEOPLE ON TEH SCREENZ AT 1ONCE!!!!1!" battles. The movies were entirely too long.

The same goes for Tom's War Of The Worlds. It was ok but no masterpiece by any stretch.

Glitter was not a horrible movie. It was just run-of-the-mill. It was ho hum.

for real, I rented from the Rogers Video store called Motorhome massacre. I'm not exactly sure if it was supposed to be a spoof or real but it was by far the worst movie in a major video store. I challenge you to find a worse movie. I think they filmed half of it on their cell phone cameras. A must see, if you want to know what the worst movie is.
