I thought they were opening up in May. Anyone hear anything about the site?

BlastGT1 and I slapped this quick FAQ together, hopefully this will answer most of your questions. If somehow you're left with a weird feeling in your stomach after reading through this Q&A, please visit #tit at irc.after-all.org where we'll be more than happy to give you clarity.

(Note: this FAQ does not address issues already mentioned in the Press Release)

Q. When will you open the site?
A. We do not have a specific release date yet, but the plan is we go live before the end of May. However, there's a lot of new code to be written and only 24 hours in a day.

Q. Do I need to get an invite or will you open for signups?
A. What good would it be to release the best BitTorrent tracker ever if nobody could access it? Open signups it is.

Q. Will I be able to get my old account back?
A. We are working on that, but nothing definate yet. More information regarding this will be made available shortly.

Q. Can I find out what my stats were?
A. No. The code isn't operational yet. Also, we have better things to do than to look for your lost stats (no offense).

Q. Who do I talk to about being an uploader?
A. BlastGT1, Nightmeare or Soepkip. They're the administrators in charge of all things torrents and make sure you can get creative the moment we're live.

Q. Can I be a mod/admin/sysop?
A. Only if you have a 100mbit unmetered box. See this thread for more information (seriously now, we're all sorted out).

Q. I've heard some retarded rumours about the routing of your hosting and TorrentIt being a honeypot, are they true?
A. The website has been put on a temporary hosting to best facilitate our communications. Don't be surprised to see the IP change a time or two before we launch. And no, TorrentIt is not a woman's vagina. *sigh*

What could be better than get back my ancient account :D
TiT has been away so long that few weeks more doesn't matter anything. The most important thing is that everything works 100% :)

I thought they originally were saying May 13th. Not sure why... could have sworn I seen the 13th mentioned somewhere. Maybe they changed the date to insure stuff was fixed and working properly??

They announced it on the 13th of last month on the 1 year anniversary of it being shut down (13. april 2006). There was a downloadable newsletter saying that the site would reopen sometime in may. No specific date.

Last night in IRC:

Definitely soon, at least before 2008.

I'm thinking it's still up in the air.

Well, judging by what you can read on the developer's blog, they still have some coding to do if this 1 month old news is to be believed and still accurate.
