I'm thinking about switching away from Leeware at the end of this month, does anyone know any plans between 0-40 dollars a month? Preferably with no setup fee....I know that asking for a lot, but if anyone has come accross anything I would love to see it.

I found these two...but their for web hosting right? They wouldn't work as a seedbox, correct?

You generally won't find a dedi for under $60 unless you pay a setup fee.

I would go for the Leaseweb base server, 40 a month, but there is a 50 dollar setup fee... :(, I'm probably going to end up sticking with Leeware I guess.... :(

Well, that is not entirely true. What might also work are so called Virtual Servers or VServers - those are considerably cheaper because you have a limited CPU-Power and RAM from sharing the same physical server with other customers. Nevertheless the server looks (and feels mostly) like your own root with an unique IP - which is the important thing because for using a seedbox you won't need more than root-access and some diskspace.

I don't know how popular this type of hosting is outside of German-speaking Europe but especially in Germany I know of some companies which provide VServers for decent conditions. For example, server4you has a neat offer (50gb webspace, 3tb traffic) for 45-50 usd or hosteurope (45gb webspace, 2tb traffic) for 40 usd (converted estimates).

Beware, I'm not recommending VServers outright because I've never used one for questionable high traffic use, but they're certainly worth thinking about. Also you might want to check general terms and conditions for what's especially disallowed.

edit: huh, didn't catch the max of 40 usd, in this case disregard my examples because there are also cheaper alternatives. But as clos is talking about 40 a month with Leaseweb, why wouldn't you choose this or stay there?

I hear good things about leaseweb, but their cheap plans only have 500gb per month, and its still 3-4 times as expensive as leeware.

You may consider finding a friend who is looking for a dedicated server and you could split the costs of the server.

Indeed. It's certainly worth going for leaseweb if you have the money.
