you heard right. ScT gave out atleast 1 invite to EVERYONE...

2007-05-13 - Since we've raised the user-limit we decided it's time to give out some invites for anyone who has been here for at least a month. What's going to happen is:

If you have invited a cheater, or been invited by a cheater, you will get 1 invite, if not you will get 2 invites. This is more then enough to fill the free spots, so get inviting your friends but just remember you're responsible for your invitees.

We've also decided for a free leech if 2000 users get onto IRC. The free leech will last as long as 1000 users stay on IRC, so if it drops under 1000 users say bye to free leech.

Who cares about the so-called "value" of the tracker! This is supposed to be about "File-SHARING"! As long as someone uses the tracker and seeds really well - they are a benefit to the community! "Values" shouldn't matter!

SCT's value today is the same as it was yesterday. Torrent sites quality isnt measured by rarity. And SCT is still one of the best around (if not the best). More or less invites wont change that. The "value" that you're talking about is worthless.

Having invites is nice but i believe most like the site too much to just giveaway their invites to anybody that comes along asking. Invites there (and on other sites) mean responsability.

It wouldnt hurt to have a few more peers, I'm all for it. Screw rarity, the torrent scene would be better off if people could get the trackers they wanted to use, rather than have to go through a bunch of ones that were useless to them just to get to where they actually want to be.

I saw alot of people offering bitmetv and czone for sct and it's just funny. Guess what, even though sct dropped to lvl 6, you won't find anyone to give you sct for those kind of trackers, nobody is that lame. Sct will go up again really soon where it belongs so don't get too excited about it.

Why include wheelmod and rabbit in that combo? Hell, a wheelmod&rabbit combo wont beat a lot of trackers IMO.

Trouble is though that probably at least half of those who get in will try trading their account anyway once all the invites are gone....and some of those with invites will simply create dupe accounts to trade.

im told they wont be this time, but that still makes being invited useless

That is why I gave my invites away quickly knowing the site would get a surge of new user accounts and fill up. I can see them pulling the invites soon with that many new members in unconfirmed status. They may be able to prune allot of accounts, but not enough to fullfill all the invites sent out.

The 250 waiting to get in might be something to think about before trading for an invite as well. For those that are looking for access to ScT, I would not risk trading for an invite that will expire before you can even get confirmed.
