XP Windows professional ACTIVATION CODE?

A friend installed this windows, from a Torrent, for me.
I am not a conoscieur of it.
But I have managed to repair with the cd he left for me.
Now I can see the message WELCOME on the screen, after repairing it, but the computer asks for the activation.
1) BY THE INTERNET
2) by the phone

WHICH ONE SHOULD I CHOOSE AND
can someone get the activation number for me.
I am not a member of any torrent.
I am writing from a mac because I am not able to activate my windows.
