Hi Guys

I am building a small website and need to get a free, easy to use FTP program.

Any suggestions ?

Kind Regards

server? I'd suggest serve-u. I've had a good experience with it. However, I think all hosting companies already have an ftp server setup.

Yep, Serv-U is a very good ftp-server.

If you mean client, check out: Flash FXP and Filezilla.

Seconded if you mean FTP Server Software Serv-U is a good bet, and if you mean a client then Flash FXP is the number one choice in my book.

I suppose I mean client.

I agree with all the filezilla votes.

Filezilla is one of the best clients. I have tried them all. It is the only one that is intuitively designed and allows you to edit documents on the server (by transparently downloading them and monitoring for saved changes, then reuploading.)

Sometimes, I like to use the one built into Directory Opus (http://gpsoft.com.au/) since I have it open all the time.

But as a seasoned web developer, nothing beats FileZilla to get the job done.

Client: FlashFXP, Bitkinex, FTPRush

FTPRush will do FTP over both SSL and SSH

Server: Gene6

Try proftpd (unix/linux users).

He is looking for a FTP client.

For Unix/Linux users, i always recommend lftp: http://lftp.yar.ru/
It's the best FTP client i know for Unix/Linux, because it offers many options and possibilities.

SmartFTP is my favorite. I've been a part-time web designer for some time, and it's never let me down.
