I feared for the band's future when I read an interview with Richard Kruspe after their Rosenrot release in '05. Kruspe--co-founder of the german electro/rock band--stated that the band was in for a long, needed break while he was off to start a side project entitled Emigrate (http://www.pilgrim-management.de/Emigrate/).

Sound familiar? :( It did to me, having been a fan of Rage Against the Machine with their breakup story.

Anyhow, in their official newsletter I received word that the band is up & alive!

RAMMSTEIN are alive! After more than a year break the band has returned in good spirits – the gentlemen have started writing new songs!
Unfortunately, due to the current album production, RAMMSTEIN will not play any shows this year.
We are excited to find out what news there are to tell in the near future!

Feel free to comment!

i was such a big rammstein fan in middle school. live aus berlin is a wonderful display of their live performances. i haven't listened to the last few albums they released a lot, but i would like to see them carry on! :)

I've seen random mixes of some of their concerts--which have always looked quite entertaining--and I was able to get my hands on their latest Völkerball release which is phenomenal, imo. Just gets me going and really I'm not the hardcore gothic type at all, btw...:no2:

Favorite song...errrr...one of the top 5...maybe 3... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ql-zpqvoKsRammstein - Sonne (Sun)

i also think it's pretty cool that Till used to be an olympic swimmer.

Engel (Angel) is no doubt a classic of theirs. I remember the first time I heard it, it was on a Mortal Kombat soundtrack when I was...I dunno...13-13 :idunno:. At the time I thought it was alright. :dabs: Wasn't a fan, but I found it catchy. Later at 16 Rammstein became my personal #1 Fav. :)

 Funny tidbit I found over at Herzeleid (http://herzeleid.com/en/faq/band#faq7) regarding Till's Olympic past:

According to an interview with Schneider: "Till was part of Germany’s swimming team in the European Championships when he was 13 or 14. They went to Italy but it was still Communist times and he left the hotel without permission to buy some porn magazines and got caught. I think they excluded him from the team for that."
Sehnsucht is a good album and song. The one were they wear flamethrower masks is...uhhh...Feuer Frei, right?

Anyhow, ever see their performance on Mein Teil. I think the most popular video for that song is the one from Japan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kekIXehwdH4

There's also some neat stuff from this Russian audio mixer "muffin" found at Muffin Remixes (http://www.maffin.ru/english/index.htm) (All About What?, A Sacrifice, Planes). Mixes with Rammstein, T.a.t.u and Zemfira. Some is a bit wierd tho'. :dabs:
