HI guys.... its my first post here in this section....
have some serious problem.... I was infected by some Trojan ...don't remember its name ... and after that something happened to my hard drivers ....
every time I try to enter one of them like D: or E: ....etc ... i got this problem in this image

http://i19.tinypic.com/5z5vn8x.jpg

then I formated the C: (primary drive) I re-install the XP SP2 ...
and the C: return to his normal situation but the other drivers still have the same problem tell now ...
I'm using the Kapersky Internet Security newest version with full update
and did a full scan to my computer withing Kasper and virus gone but the problem stayed :ermm:

anyone has a solution please??

Some kind of malware has altered the file association for the "Drive" file type . Sometimes when you repair or remove a Trojan it takes files and exe.'s kicking and screaming with them . You are talking about HDD 's tho not optical drives like a DVD ?

I guess if worst comes to worst you could always just reinstall windows or w/e you use.

Well hate to tell you this but you should format the drives as a virus or trojan is probably residing on them . Have you tryed Highjackthis ? I was wondering if that would help , I hate losing all my data as well it sucks .

Sometimes the cure is worse than the curse , but thats windows .:frusty:
Theres enough nice people on this site to help you, so no worries there . :)

1- Try to install BitDefender Internet Security because it's the best antivirus over the world .
2- Update virus difination first Run Deep Scan and make first action disinfect and the second action delete .
3- when it got the virus save the virus name and then search in registry about it and remove virus registry files then make restart.
4- To secure ur computer from Spyware in the future install Spyware Doctor beside BitDefnder and virus or even spyware will run out from ur computer.
Hopefully that help u

http://www.majorgeeks.com/PropertyEditor_d2207.html

You could try editing the properties of the drives using the program above. Make sure that the entries for d: e: etc are the same as c: drive.

The explore option should be:
%SystemRoot%\Explorer.exe /e,/idlist,%I,%L

The open option should be:
%SystemRoot%\Explorer.exe /idlist,%I,%L

The search option should be:
%SystemRoot%\Explorer.exe

The property editor tab is in drive properties.

Once you have changed these entries reboot and check them again. This will tell you if you have an active trojan (or fragment of a trojan) as it will have changed them to something different; you will need to search for the culprit! This is why I agree with the others that you should post a hijack this log.

edit: you can do this without program, but it is more complex.

hi nirvana

i asked a friend of mine about that problem

and he told me that :-
tools -------- folder options ------- view ---------
hide protected operating system files ( unmark it )--------
show hidden files ( mark it )

then enter your driver
and searh for autorun.inf

and delete it from each driver

try it and tell me

and btw yes i'm coptic christian

Did you tried any anti-spyware tools or anything like this?

When your drive is infected with a virus, your antivirus have remove certain info files of your drive, that's why your drive behave such a way.

The only way I know how to solve it, is to reformat the particular drive. You need to backup the drive then format and copy it's back.

Unless you can find the missing files and restore it's back.

I hope it's useful to you :)

try this. In run, type the following
chkdsk drive: /x /r

Reoplace "drive:" with the drives you are having problems with.
