i'm getting voip (unlimited in and out calls)

skype is $29.95 + $38 per year for unlimited in and out calls.

Vonage is $24.99 X 12. w/e that is

for Skype i need to get the wireless phone that doesn't need a pc. i'm getting the Philips VOIP841 for $128 on amazon.

which is better? based on my past experience w/ Skype pc to pc, i know it's pretty much crystal clear as long as u have a good internet connection. i have 500KB/s (4Mb/s) cable with Time Warner (i'm in buffalo, ny)

which should i go with? i'm thinking Skype, but i want to hear some other opinions.

thanks

i'm thinking skype too

i'm actually staying away from their wifi phones for now because it's the 1st generation, and they all have 1 major flaw. there's no built in browser in the linux system, and it can't be used at most hotspots. they all require some kind of browser to say agree or disagree w/ terms, then internet. they only work w/ completely open or straighforward wep/wpa wifi.

and apparently their sound quality's not so great

how's the call quality for skype in/out? my gf's dad says he talked to people about it, and they say the call quality isn't great.
i've used skype pc2pc before, and it sounds fine....hmmm...

Forget skype go sign up with voipstunt.com they are much cheaper than skype. I setup my router and homephone to be able to use them and it works great and saves my ££££s ;)

does voipstunt.com require teh computer to be on to take and make calls?

i need the phone to be able to take calls when the computer is off. like basically i need it to replace a regular analog landline

I've used skype when it was free last year then they stopped their free service.

I then switched to voipstunt but their free service only lasted a short while then they wanted payment.

Both had the same good sound quality when talking to landlines. In fact I think they are both using the same systems. I was even able to import my skype profile info into voipstunt.

Skype.

I have been using it as my phone for about 2 years, and as my only phone for the past year.

No problems, although I can't speak for the wifi phone yet.

Still gotta get one.

I use both VOIP and Skype though I prefer VOIP because it's cheaper than Skype with around the same voice clarity.

i looked at voipstunt. it limits u to 1min per call unless u buy credit. how much credit do i need to buy?
