Is there a good alternative to PowerPost that will allow more than 4 simultaneous connections? My posting seems limited by having just these 4 connections which just run at about 1MB/s each. Downloading using 10 connections is quite a bit faster. I'd like to do that for posting as well, :)

Unless you have an upstream link as fast as your downstream link (symetrical service, which virtually nobody has), you won't see much improvement. Virtually all home service (DSL or cable or wireless) is asymetrical, higher speeds recieved than transmitted, usually a ratio of 1 to 4 and higher (like 1 to 20).

Symmetrical. Leeching is usually 5-10MB/s with 10 connections depending on the time of day. Posting is only 1-5MB/s with 4 connections....again, depending on time of day.

There are other versions of PowerPost that allow more connections, such as these:

12 Thread (connection) PowerPost
http://www.alt-bin.com/misc/gbpp.html

50 Thread (connection) PowerPost
http://rapidshare.com/files/34794005/PowerPOST-aCRYMiON.EDiTION_with_50_connections_.rar.html

People might have heard this 50 thread one is bad, its not! Infact alot of high speed usenet posters use it.
