Just a typical tuner program...Tuneup Utilities 2007 (http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/f-news-section-95/t-tuneup-utilities-2007-has-been-released-144039/?) (best regcleaner, ever). Maybe a custom Defrag program like UltimateDefrag to place your files where you want for faster access n'such.

Software tuneups are ok but expect minimal results.

The answer is RAM. Lots and lots of it.

maybe he meant like speed hacking games? Lol
SpeederXP is a program that forces your windows to speed up or something (Don't really know how it works though) so it would seem like your game is running in super speed mode or something.

There are tweaks to help with gaming if money or memory is out of the question . This site is quite good .

http://www.tweakxp.com/

Example : Performance tweaks . http://www.tweakxp.com/performance_tweaks.aspx

Remove unnecessary programs from auto starting up
and
Disable some Services (will also add to security) - http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm

I use that program too , I just never used the recommended tweaks or suggestions as it seems I had already implemented them ?

You know like turn off eye candy under System Properties , Advanced . I see Black Vipers site is back online , not like I could understand all he was talking about , still some good advice there . :)

@ashstorm , nice thing with Tune Up is you can revert back to default settings if you fuck up . !

Upgrade your system hardware.

Easier said than done I guess . :) Gad I'm old school but unless your multitasking or a gamer , who gives a fuck ? I tested systems with more , less memory , better Vid card and still can't see the difference .

Unless its the CPU , your just biding time . Till the next better ,faster ,computer you can afford comes out . Rule of thumb to me was always the start up time , whats loading and do I really need that video or sound card options at start ? Hey dump the desktop picture too, as it uses memory . Hey I'm rambling as I like my Sara Croft desktop pic. :yup:

Sorry I meant if your converting a movie , browsing the web and still complaining , buy a new computer .
