As a member of torrent sites for a year now, someone has recommend newsgroups to me. Now i have downloaded Newsbin and also he suggested Astraweb. Are these good sites?
And i'm right that there is no seeding so no need for cilents as Utorrent?
If thats true why are these not more popular?

I know its not free but reading either Astraweb or UNS come up.
not as popular as torrents because:-
a. you'll need to pay for the service if you want anything worth having
b. not quite as tech-simple as torrents (but piece of piss once you get the hang of it)
that's right - no uploading

True... for the most part. I hear this often (about paying for a newserver.)
However, if you're just getting into Newsgroups; I would check out your
ISP's news server. (some are pretty decent)The retention rates are usually
poor; compared to paid services. (but...not all of them)
