View Full Version : Why put a Leeware sticky here??

Could someone explain with we now have a sticky doing publicity of Leeware on this forum??

To make it even more slow that it actually is?

To completly destroy the network/hardware of Leeware which are already suffering of the great amount of torrenter already using his service?

I think that Leeware was already well-known around here and since some users have already been disconnected for P2P use, i just don't see the point of this sticky here.

I'm not a Leeware user, but i did used it and think it was quite a bad experience

just my humble opinion :ermm:

i just dont get it, leeware start disconnecting P2P users and then FST has a partnership with Leeware

OMG, what is that...

DVito

Yeah, I'm surprised there is a partnership between FST and Leeware.

I assume that Lee has adapted his network for the reality of torrent use, and stacks all of the VPSs ordered through FST on a specific set of servers designated for high bandwidth, high HDD activity use.

The choice of advertising hosting on a file sharing forum is questionable though...

what do you mean ? you pay money and they just disconnect you ?

KFlint
06-08-2007, 02:45 AM
yeah some people here have been disconnected for illegal use of their server, they haven't been able to use their box for the end of the contract (without refund)

it's not that much money to waste you may tell me but still...

nobody seem to know why some people are busted and other not

anyway, i don't like the idea of having my seedbox in the USA so i would never return to leeware

So, is Leeware officially supporting our piracy? lol

AkaiDoresu
06-08-2007, 03:10 AM
What speeds can be guaranteed @ lee ? Is 1 or 2 mb/s ordinary or something rare ?

wishmaster2
06-08-2007, 03:14 AM
as i said above..for just 20 usd is quite good....its stable enough but sometimes when its down just send un email to lee to restart it...he always responds back...if u have a slow connection and want to boost some accounts it worth a try..!!

the fasted speed i got with lee was 7mb....but i usually get 2-5 upload and download much better than my 50kb upload at my home connection dont u think? ;)

Hehe, Lee finally realize his business came from pirates. He banned us first but then he saw his subscriptions decreasing. Good choice Mr. Lee.

We should a start a pool now :
In how many weeks will Leeware will start being raided by US police? :P

DVito
06-08-2007, 09:23 PM
US feds have no jurisdiction over PayPal so I've heard.. all they can take is Leeware's servers if for some reason they do raid FDC (which hosts many pirates :P)

Umm, no. All they need is a subpeona (or not even, if they can drum up some bull and use the Patriot Act).

Hey! :)

Just read the sticky with the leeware offer and I'm wondering if leeware will actually report someone to the authorities if his/her box has been reported by some anti-p2p company? Are there any reports on somebody getting sued for this?

DVito
06-09-2007, 01:07 AM
No, you don't get reported.. you don't even have to send contact info with PayPal. You just get your box shut down.

Oh, and maxrebo, I didn't know that subpoenas worked for everything. :/

AkaiDoresu
06-09-2007, 01:22 AM
That's why I'm afraid to buy it.
US servers are pretty unsafe I would say. This whole piracy shit has become pain in officials ass. I'm really not sure about buying it cuz if it works 2-3mb/s most of the time, i can upload even up to 3TB a month.

KFlint
06-09-2007, 01:34 AM
i admit that if the speed is good now (the time i used it, i was getting good speed sometimes, but 50kB/s at some moment too...), than it worths 20$

i pay 59 Euro for 2 tera bandwith on Leaseweb so for sure 3 terabytes for 20$ is great

AkaiDoresu

Can someone tell how how much data he sent over a month using leeware ?

Doesn't Leeware want any contact information from you or does that just mean that you could enter false information in your Paypal account?

I really don't get it, sorry :(

You aren't required to send info along with your paypal payment. I think your name (unless you check the button that sends your address and phone numbers) is all that goes. When you have a business name on your account, all Lee knows is that, and your email address.

Ah ok, thanks for clarifying :)
