As the thread title says ive got some problems trying to delete some files.
So i need some type of software which can tell me which programm is still using them so that i can stop them from doing so.
Ive abviously tried rebooting which doesnt do the trick.

unlocker (http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/) will do the trick (if it's on xp). After a failed delete/move/rename, it will apear with a list of processes that are using that file. It will give you several options including "unlock", "delete after next boot", "kill process" and "delete/move/rename". This won't work in vista because bista will keep trying until you tell it to cancel.
For vista, I'd use eraser. (http://www.heidi.ie/eraser/) After install, it ads a right click option to erase a file. This will overwrite the file as many times as you specify. After it fails to overwrite, it gives you the option to delete on next reboot.
Here is a simple program which will delete most files
no install needed

Also try in windows xp...start/run/msconfig/startup/disable all/apply and restart the cpu, that will kill alot of programs from running in the background.
