System spec in my sig.

Now that the weather is finally hot (30ish Celsius), my CPU and mobo temperatures are getting unacceptable.

I am not overcloaking my CPU at all, but I am using the stock CPU fan.

On IDLE my mobo temperature is always 44 C, and my CPU temperature is well over 40 C as well. Under load the temperature increases by 2-3 C.

This has been going on for maybe 2 weeks, and I leave my comp on for extended periods of time, so far no problems.

However I'm afraid that my CPU will die on me, so are these temperatures safe? I'll have to buy a better CPU fan if they aren't.

Also, the air flow for my case is very good, considering I have the side panel removed and 2 80mm fans blowing nevertheless.

Those temps are fine. The max is something like 70, 75... I remember the old athlons max was like 85 or 90?

My temp is around 36 right now with the fan at 50% (and OCed), in same temperature weather as over there, but I'm in the basement of a house with air conditioning turned on. :P
I'm sure if I was in a warmer area my temp would be around the same as yours, cpu fan running constantly. :idunno:

Not high at all. Why are you looking for problems that don't exist?

Because before people were bragging about their 20C idle and 30C load athlon 64 temperatures, so I was just assuming temps over 40C is unacceptable.

Lesson learned. Thx.

I'll overcloak again then, so temps in the 50s and 60s under load is fine?

Were "those people" watercooling, perchance?

"Overcloaking" will lead to very high temps but you won't be able to tell.
Klingon technology can be very tricky to implement.

*Sorry to butt into this all-Canadian thread.
