A lot of good books, but the one I keep re-reading is Ender's Game. I've enjoyed it for a lot of years. The series is good of course, as is the Bean series (at least the 1st two).

I'll but that on the top of my list for now.

I really like Robin Hobb's books. Love the first Farseer triology and the Tawny man triology, but well, all of them are good (I'm on her fourth set of triology, the Soldier's Son, atm :)). I really reccomend em. Fantasy books btw... Although it seems more "serioius" than regular fantasy book.

Also reccomend the Wheel of time books.

I love Stephen King but the scariest book ive ever read is

American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis

i got so involved in it i had to put it down for 3 months, and ive never had to do that with any book, it was like i was him doing the stuff, scary shit (picked it back up again and it was nothing though lol)

Best Book has to be Lord of the Rings not much of a twist though, but definately worth reading.

others

Rainbow Six by Tom Clancy, suprisingly very good and i read it before any of the games (or at least just after the 1st game anyway)

anythng by Stephen King, the dark tower books im reading now are quite good, havnt finished them yet though.

Rats and Domain as well are very good by James Herbert.

Best book I ever read was the biography of Barney Curly.

For those that don't know who he is, well he was a horse racing owner, trainer, he was also a bookie and then professional gambler.

He made millions from pulling the wool over the bookies eyes with different scams!!! But they were all legit so it wasn't illegal.

The man is just a genius...

A really excellent book :)

Although I can't say it's the best book- at least from a purely technical standpoint- when I think back on all the books I've read (and I read a lot), the one that had the greatest impact was Red Dragon by Thomas Harris.

An anecdote...
I had just finished the book when, riding the subway one day, I spotted a woman across the aisle reading it.
Suddenly, her eyes went round, she shuddered and put the tome down.
I leaned over and said:
"He just bit off Lound's lips, didn't he?"

She just nodded and gave me a sick grin.
And started reading again.

It's that kind of book.

Ira Levin - This Perfect Day

As I was reading it I was thinking it was an amazing sci-fi book with some strong real-world parallels. But as I reflected on it afterwards, I started to realize that this was more than an sci-fi book and more than exaggerated speculation on the future of government. It was a genius insight into humanity, the world and everyday relationships. Levin wrote what seemed to be a revised 1984, but the subject matter goes well beyond mind control and manipulation. It covers government (most obviously), corporations, peoples and individuals. Its metaphors are versatile yet specific and I am still discovering new ones.

This book never made it big, but I would rank it as the best book I've ever read and one of the most underrated books of all time.

The absolute best books!!:
Anne Rice - The Vampire Lestat, Queen of the Damned.
Stephen King - The Dark Tower series and The Green Mile, Signal. (All of his novels are good too!)

The Dark Tower - Stephen King ... amazing & epic!

I'm also a big fan of the Harry Potter books but I wouldn't say they are the best books ever... just they're great for your imagination and JK Rowling builds a really fantastic world in them.

Easily "How to win friends and influence people".

Non-fiction.

Its an amazing book that paints a picture of the oldschool American values. The America I truly admire. Things are going to sh*t fast today. More people need to read this book.

Dale Carnegie was a very good man. This book will help anyone who reads it get more out of life.

The title sounds shallow, but the content is definitely not at all.

Highly recommended.

Another good book "Tuesdays with Morrie".

Also Non Fiction.

Its about a writer who sees on local tv, his college professor from many years ago. The college professor is dying with a terminal diease. Mitch (the writer) remembers how close they were, and remebers saying that they would catch up after he graduates.

So he goes to visit Morrie every tuesday until he dies, and every time he visits they have a very deep talk about life and death.

Many, many lessons can be leant from this book.

I will never forget it.
