Can someone please explain why people do this? Registering an account, then trading away the account + mail.

Why not trade away the mail with the invite in it and let people register with any nick they want, and donīt have to bother of IP changes.

Don't be silly, that would be too sensible.

but many users want their own username&like BamZow (http://filesharingtalk.com/vb3/members/bamzow-155133) mentioned it may cause unnecessary problems of email/ip change

As I have explained to others it is seriously easy to register any invite on ScT within 3 or 4 hours of it arriving in your inbox, and I haven't failed yet.

they prune every hour, just go on the hour and you'll get in IF you have an invite. Worked fine for me anyway :P

Just install C4C Add-On for Firefox. it'll tell U any changes in the link's status.
I was told to do so here- it worked nice and easy.
