Norton Personal Firewall has indicated on numerous occasions that it has blocked a Back Orifice 2000 Trojan Horse. Norton tells me the direction of the attempt is "Inbound". Should I assume that I do not have this trojan, but that it's attempting to get in?

Any recommendations on what to do? The usual running of Ad-Aware, Spybot, and even HiJackThis have not resolved the issue.

It's an intrusion attempt. Someone it trying to connect to the "back orifice" port, in the hope that your PC is "infected" with this trojan, in an attempt to control your PC.

Three(?) possible reasons:

1). It's someone randomly scanning IP addresses.
2). It's someone who thinks they have infected your PC with back orifice and is trying to connect.
3). You are using an IP address that someone else has used previously, who was infected with back orifice.

Either way, there's nothing to worry about if Back Orifice is not on your PC.
