Why, if they don't break any rules.

Is it board policy to close a thread if the person who started it instructs a mod to do so.

No, no it isn't :dabs:

seems to me, depends who's friends with the mods.

Nepotism, gotcha.

I've never understood the closing thing. IMO once you start a thread then it belongs to everyone. It should be closed if rules are broken or someone has a genuine reason to be upset or offended by it.

Take the jimbo = * threads. The chap was genuinely annoyed and it was spoiling his time here. Close them I say. But just on a whim, that's book burning.

Mods don't have friends.

exactly. Though, to be fair to Barbie bell here, he did once remove summat that offended...i think. Or i just couldnt locate it.

Well you do. But that's the exception because you didn't feel it necessary to also become an anally retentive dickhead.

No offence like.

ok, a test. The Jimbo = The Unmentionable One

This seems to be upsetting people who new the unmentionable one. (I dont mean Mohammed)

I, although happy to take a joke on the chin from others (see help...sex with older ladies thread).

But, sexpert, and a few others seem to be genuinely upset.

IMOA, i think they are upset. and feel they need to rant to me as i am clearly in a more Alpha Male position than them.

For me, they can cry me a river. I don't want to upset anyone, and if they have, then they need similar counselling services that i partake in.

So, will you close it on those grounds.

Nope, kind of ranting there. Could you take a deep breath and try again.

Bottom line, it's all down to moderator discretion. I only once closed a thread on request, because the poster (it was in the drawing room) made a twat of himself and said some flippant things, and the only way it was ever going to go from there was he was going to get his arse ripped out.

I used to joke that if Adster were to request it, I would close the dingleberry thread, but tbh the backlash from the pricks who post there would have been unbearable, so the consensus is to let them have their number blog...

fixed.

Nice clarification.

Barbie, be a good sport and close the offending thread. You know it makes sence. jimbo says it doesn't really upset him but lets read between the lines and feel his pain.

Then we can all move on.

A thread should be considered communal property.

What makes you think that.

Once someone creates a personality it becomes the property of the forum. FFS do you people not bother reading the rules. You just clicked that you had read them. Didn't you.
