not sure what my finish time is, won't know for two weeks, think its an hour and eight/nine which is a bit of a hax as the race started and i was in the middle and everyone ran for liek a minute and then walked cos it was a big crowd and people seemed to run then walk then run then walk for liek ten/fifteen minutes and there wasn't much you could do about it unless you were roight at the front, an hour and two minutes was the time to beat :emo:

http://www.runforall.com/

managed the whole thing fine though, once the race got going i was a bit too eager and over did it straight away, then loads of people started to over take me, then i got a second wind around the 6k mark and over took a load of them - after the race i got a free bottle of luccazade and a free t shirt and in the end, isn't that what really matters, getting free t shirts :smilie4:

apparently nell mcandrew was there hosting it but i didn't get to see her, could only hear her voice coming from the speakers

/looking for another 10k to do in the next month or so

it wasn't too bad actually, it seemed harder during training  though that uber stitch i got didn't help matters <_< but other than that it was pretty hawt, got a time to beat for the next one so thats something to aim for :smilie4:

thats ghey about your race though, hope it was for something important like a free crisps and beer day at a naked lady pub

Alien5

 the easy way to run the 10k for me was to let a lovely lady with a nice bouncy bum run past you, then all you need to do is focus yourself on it for the next 5 or 6 miles. ;) i really wanted to run the race as well :( missed all those sweaty women in lycra shorts

I'll have to enter a 10k fun run soon

Mr. Mulder
06-08-2008, 08:59 PM
just under two weeks till the second one, had a trial run just now, 53mins - best time yet :01: though im finding it hard as ive been doing no running, only weights for the past few months, under an hour is the goal but anything under an hour and seven is an improvement, but 53mins would be fucking win on the day.

being sponsored this time, running for http://www.macmillan.org.uk/ - raised £110 thus far :01:

Just got back from Leeds, haven't got my official time yet but its definitely under an hour  raised £168 too :smilie4:

I was on fire (not literally though) overtaking n00bs left, right and centre but then it got to the 7k marker and i felt like throwing up, seriously lagged at the end but kept and steady pace all the way and got an ok time :01:

Forget running, come and do this http://www.commandochallenge.co.uk/

I'm not entering (I'm not insane and I'd die in the crawl tunnels)but I'm going along in a massage therapist capacity. If anyone saw the episode of the F word where Ramsey has to do this commando run, then its similar to this one.

Well done Mulder! Can't you just run 10k whenever you feel like it? And you don't even have to just run 10 you know...you can do 9 or 11 for a bit of variety :yup:.

Great Scott! That's pretty slow.

I'm pretty sure even I did better, when I was like 14

Couldn't do it now, though. But that's mostly 'cos I've pretty much not done any running at all for years.

First let me say that I admire anybody that does something like that Mulder.
Wondering about training though, anyone under 40 should be able to break 45 minutes on a reasonably flat course.
And that's still keeping the training more or less easy.

Mr. Mulder
06-22-2008, 03:34 PM
Yeah its not a great time i know :emo:

but as i said i've not done any training for it, its all been weights and 0 cardio these past few months and that hasn't helped, other than that - im just not very good at running :emo:

IdolEyes787

Last thing I intended was to make you feel bad about you're time man.
Plenty of people be happy to do what you just did.
Most important thing is to be proud of your accomplishment .
Besides it's rumored that you're dealing with serious wind resistance in the crotchal area.

Mr. Mulder

10K?
Running?
Don't you have a car?

The art of running has always been beyond me... I was quite a good swimmer at school, and cycling was no problem either but I just never got the running thing.

To this very day I have nightmares about trying to run and not being able to. :fear:

And every year, at the beginning of the school year we had to run a mile in under 12 minutes or you didn't pass PE for that year :fear: :fear: :fear: :fear: :fear:

So every year, at the beginning at the schoolyear I managed to get my time to 11.59 or so, puking 2-3 times along the way.
I hate running.

You should be shot for enjoying it.

Squeamous
06-22-2008, 09:34 PM
I'm not surprised someone died from it....it was horrible. It was like that footage of concentration camps where they got people to run about naked to see if they were fit to work, and then if they weren't they pulled them out and took them off to the gas chamber.....but without the nudity and gas chambers.
