Hello, sometimes when i'm surfing i see pics that i want to download from websites but when i right click and save picture to my desktop it comes out 'no preview available' and i can't view them.

Why is this?Do i need any software to be able to download these pics?

Thanks in advance for any answers. ;)

I don't know why N£MO but I'd like to recommend an Image Downloader, I just found Mihov Picture Downloader (http://www.webattack.com/freeware/downloader/fwimgdownload.shtml) screenshot (http://www.webattack.com/screenshots/picdownloader.htm) download it (http://www.webattack.com/download/dlpicdownloader.shtml)

Mihov Picture Downloader is a handy and useful tool for downloading all the pictures from one page. Just type in the address and let this program do the rest. One click and all the graphics will be transfered to your hard drive, without clicking on every link and viewing each thumbnail.

I tested it last week or so and it works perfect!

Theres also a program called offline explorer which can be set up to go to a webpage and download all the pictures and also click all the links and download all the pictures it finds there. It has lots of options like u can choose what files it downloads, (the page, the pics, the files etc) u can choose what kind of links it clicks on, u can choose how many times it recursively burrows down (ie clicks links on first, second, third, etc pages)

Yoyu probably encountered a website that does not allow you to save (or steal) images.

But in XP pro, if you let the mouse cursor idle over top of the image, a little tool bar appears in the upper left corner of the image, giving you the option to save it.

Unfortuately i have XP home.

Surely there must be a way to steal these images from a site.

I use a program called intellitamperer. Its usefull for downloading stuff from sites that dont have direct links to them. Just type in the url and it opens like a public ftp server and allows you to download whatever files you want.

normally all pictures gets saved temporarily in the 'Temporary Internet Files' folder. look for it in there, and copy the pic to another folder. has worked in the past for me. ;)

There's a way to do it with front page too. it'll usually copy anything compatable with html. Just go to edit/select all/copy on any web page you want. Paste it into front page, allow front page to retrieve the page details and images and do a preview. From there you can right click and copy an image or text or go back to html and grab any code you want. If you still get problems trying to copy the pictures, edit out "no right click" and all the html script associated with it, save the page and open a preview again. some images may need to be grabbed again but this time when you save, all the images will be saved in the folder with the html page you saved.

The link below is an example. All the images were saved but the PHP formatting doesn't work with the html so that part won't show.

The image toolbar is part of IE6, regardless of which version of Windows you have. Go into Internet Options, click on the Advanced tab and scroll down to Multimedia. Check the box that says "Enable Image Toolbar" and restart.

Then hold your cursor over an image and click on the Save icon.

If it says no preview available I sincerely doubt that it's the fact that the website is not allowing you to view the pictures. If that were the case it wouldn't have let you save them in the first place. I'm guessing it's an unsupported file format, if I'm wrong then here's a very easy way to get save the pictures you seek.

Simply go to "file" and then "save as" save them under the name you wish and the location you wish. Then open up the folder and the pictures should be inside.

alot of the times when you get an unsupported file format, you can simply change the extension on it to .jpg and view the pic. dont know if it works all the time, but it has worked a few times for me. you can give that a try as well.

That's right, they might be .png image files. I had a problem with them a long time ago. Maybe this site will help...
