http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en/thumb/e/e1/275px-BSA_logo.gifThe Business Software Alliance (BSA) has added a new approach to combat piracy in the workplace by offering rewards up to $1 million dollars in cash to employee tattle-tells (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=tattletell).

That is if the BSA receives a cash settlement from the company and assuming you did not directly participate in the piracy. Nate Mook from BetaNews, however, points out that the "pay-out is based on the BSA's 'sole discretion' and the announced payments include the flexible 'up to' prefix" where the rewards start at $5,000 when the BSA receives $100,000 and so on.

The software organization is also advertising the new campaign as “Blow the Whistle” in which it appeals to an employee's moral sense with the added incentive of a cash reward.

Currently, the BSA is targeting businesses in California, Texas, Illinois, New York, Florida, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Georgia and Arizona.
