Hello Everyone,

I have a twin brother who is completely deaf,

Although he has a cochlear implant,
He does not wear it at night obviously,

And we want to buy him one of those vibrating alarm clocks,
Have any of you bought one of those?

I want it to be really good, I don't want to waste money if it will not wake him up, he is also taking sleeping pills (Ambien) at night, so it needs to be REALLY GOOD!

What's your input?
Have any recommendations as far as brand and such?
I don't want to spend too much, i've read about the sonic boom kind that go under your pillow and that seems good and at a good price, but is there any better?

Thanks,

Tanner

I've heard of something called Shake Awake from a partially deaf girl i know. No idea what its like.

may i suggest you post this on the community page here : http://www.britishdeafassociation.org.uk/

It's the largest UK forum/community, run and used by deaf people. They'd probably have a better knowledge of such things, and would understand his medication effects and what's the most effective to get him up for breakfast.

Also, this is a huge list of non audiable clocks and accessories:

Get him a blow job alarm clock. He'll love it, and it's a helluva way to wake up.

Jimbo might be available as the alarm.

Well, i have not bought one yet, but ive been researching and im going with the Sonic Boom model SB1000, it has the features most others do, and it also has an outlet in the clock and you can plug in a lamp and it will flicker along with the alarm.

What puzzles me is why you made it in lounge...
