I saw this one today. I must say, once again Bruce didn't disappoint! There's tons of action which I really enjoyed. One thing I've noticed with these action movies like this is that the producers don't take into account human injury. The only injuries Bruce receives is a ton of cuts and one gunshot in the shoulder at the end of the movie (which was intentional). If you've watched this movie you'd know what I'm talking about. :mellow:

no bit of humor at all in the entire movie

over the top action action action no slow down like other Die Hards had

we dont even get a background on what happened with John why does his daughter hate him so much.. whats the story with his divorce in the space of a day his daughter loves him again before he even comes to the rescue

Brilliant movie, the second best film of the year (Hot Fuzz ftw).

The film is lean with the background and heavy on the action (which, in an action film, is the most important part).


The only injuries Bruce receives is a ton of cuts and one gunshot in the shoulder at the end of the movie (which was intentional).I just switch off that part of my brain that tells me these things are stupid when I'm watching a movie but they are fun to take the piss out of afterwards (and, let's face it, DH4 is full of challenges to our suspensions of disbelief). Though it would have been more realistic if he had broken every bone in his body when he jumped out of his car it would have made for a shorter and more boring movie. Though perhaps the rest of the movie could have been devoted to Bruce in his hospital bed and we could have found out just why Lucy McClane was so damned cross at her daddy.

btw how many times have we seen a father daughter kidnapped blahblahblah im the hero movies? thats another thing I wanna rant about been done 1 billion times and I knew it was coming

I haven't watched it yet and I thought I was going to enjoy it until I read this thread. I'm not too bothered about the lack of a father-daughter bonding part of the film (:lol:) but if it's true there's no humour in it and stuff like that then it really isn't going to feel like a Die Hard. :snooty:

I got pissed when I saw one of the main characters was the mac form these mac vs. PC commercials. In the commercial he's such an arrogant SOB, but in the movie he was good. Overall, worth paying to see.

i thought this film was very descent. yes, like adster has stated there really isn't any character build or villain personality going on here, but i dug all the action it provided. to me that's what die hard is all about. guns, explosions and bruce living thru all near death situations. a VERY good watch.

I though it was pretty good but had its flaws.

needed more bewbs, swearing and the villan needed to be more evil. The last 3 villans all have scenes were they indiscriminately kill an innocent. The most evil thing you could see this fella doing is sending you Viagra spam.

didn't enjoy the movie too much. Bruce is too old, it really passed the time when he could destroy hellicopters with his car, and i guess it's a little bit long and boring (the movie).
